Job Overview

The Compliance Officer will oversee the administration, compliance, and maintenance of all aspects of the Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering Compliance Program. This role requires accuracy and timeliness in documentation generation, as well as a strong understanding of compliance requirements.


Key Responsibilities
  • Stay up-to-date with changes to federal and state banking laws and regulations affecting the credit union's management, operations, and product offerings. Interpret and disseminate information on regulatory matters.
  • Serve as the credit union's Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Compliance Officer, ensuring adherence to relevant regulations.
  • Communicate current legislative issues to management, recommending the credit union's position.
  • Participate in new product/service development, recommending appropriate compliance controls.
  • Review new advertisements and disclosures for compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Coordinate compliance reviews with the credit union's third-party compliance consultant. Inform management of any compliance deficiencies noted during third-party reviews and track all outstanding deficiencies and corrective actions.
  • Assist with regulatory examinations.
  • File currency transaction reports (CTRs) and conduct anti-money laundering (AML) research on suspicious accounts. Process the bi-weekly FinCEN update. Prepare the monthly BSA report for the Board of Directors.
  • Research suspicious activity reports (SARs) and coordinate SAR committee meetings as necessary.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements. The estimated salary range for this position is $55,000 - $70,000 per annum, depending on experience.
