Job Overview

Position: Production Control Coordinator

Compensation: $20-24/hr based on experience

Role Summary

The Production Control Coordinator plays a vital role in enhancing the efficiency of multiple departments through the management of documentation and the generation of work orders. This position requires the ability to complete daily tasks independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitates inventory management by operating the supply/demand model within the Global Shop (ERP) system.
  • Generates work orders, pick lists, and releases them to the production floor.
  • Conducts work order closing transactions to update inventory levels, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Creates and disseminates work orders according to production needs and assists in job routing coordination.
  • Performs data entry and organizes electronic documentation.
  • Participates in meetings to gather information regarding new orders, modifications to existing orders, supplier issues, and production delays.
  • Coordinates the procurement of materials and supplies.
  • Prepares and distributes work order packets.
  • Produces weekly and monthly performance reports.
  • Engages with floor supervisors regarding scheduling needs or material shortages.
  • Monitors the Quality department for required parts and collaborates with the Quality Supervisor.
  • Updates presentation materials for meetings.
  • Handles general administrative tasks utilizing Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Educational Background

  • A high school diploma or GED with a minimum of six months of administrative or manufacturing planning experience; an Associate degree in a related field is preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Manufacturing experience is advantageous. A minimum of 1-2 years of experience with an ERP system is highly desirable. Familiarity with ERP systems, bills of material, routings, and inventory control methods is preferred.
