Position Overview

In this role, you will assist with claims analysis, construction cost estimation, and scheduling tasks aimed at aiding our clients in resolving claims and legal disputes. A solid understanding of the technical aspects of both commercial and residential building envelope systems, relevant building codes, ADA guidelines, and preparation of construction documents is essential. Responsibilities will encompass site evaluations, generating oral and written reports detailing causes of failure, extent of loss, and suggested remediation strategies. You may also provide expert opinions and testimony as needed. Additional duties include gathering photographic evidence, conducting investigations to document onsite conditions, and overseeing field-testing. Strong communication skills are crucial, as you will be expected to present findings to clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct forensic assignments in civil/structural engineering and building sciences, adhering to a predetermined scope of work and budget agreed upon with the client.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, estimating software (e.g., RS Means or Xactimate), project management tools (e.g., CMiC), and scheduling applications (e.g., Primavera).
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial or residential construction estimation.
  • Experience in insurance claims adjusting is advantageous.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture is preferred but not mandatory.
  • A General Contractor's license is a plus.
  • Ability to lead teams or manage projects, including supervising and evaluating team performance.
  • Monitor and document progress during construction or rebuilding processes as required by clients.
  • Capability to initiate, develop, and maintain positive client relationships.
