Position Overview:

The Credit team at Social Finance Ltd is responsible for managing credit risk across our lending products, which include Personal Loans, Student Loan Refinancing, Private Student Loans, and Credit Cards. This team develops credit strategies and policies for new account origination, portfolio management, and collections/recovery operations. Our goal is to create data-driven strategies that align with the company's risk appetite while prioritizing our members' interests.

The Senior Analyst of Credit Strategy will play a pivotal role in analyzing and assessing data to formulate and recommend effective credit risk strategies and models for our lending products. Initially, the focus will be on Personal Loans, with potential opportunities to engage with other lending products in the future.

In this role, you will independently create and implement underwriting strategies for Personal Loans that align with our risk appetite. You will monitor and analyze risk trends within the portfolio, providing insights and recommendations for strategy improvements. As part of the Credit team, you will have first-line-of-defense responsibilities.

This position requires collaboration with various cross-functional teams, including Business Units, Operations, Marketing, Finance, Capital Markets, Product, Engineering, Legal, and Compliance. Utilize your business acumen and analytical skills to drive revenue, manage risk, and deliver value to both the company and our members.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in credit strategy or analytics.
  • Strong business acumen and experience in consumer lending.
  • Direct experience in the credit strategy analytical lifecycle, including strategy development and implementation.
  • Proven analytical skills with customer performance data and third-party variables.
  • Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and Python.
  • Ability to communicate complex analyses effectively to stakeholders.
  • High motivation to achieve results and work collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of analytical techniques such as regression and decision trees.
  • Preferred: 3+ years of experience in personal loan credit risk.
  • Preferred: Experience in developing credit strategies using innovative data sources.
  • Preferred: Advanced degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics or Mathematics.

Compensation and Benefits:
The base pay range for this role is competitive and will be determined based on individual factors such as experience and skills.
