The Role:


The Credit team at Social Finance Ltd is responsible for managing credit risk across our lending offerings, which include various products such as Student Loan Refinancing, Personal Loans, Credit Cards, and Mortgages. This team develops and implements credit strategies and policies for new account origination, portfolio management, and recovery operations.

As a Senior Credit Risk Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in analyzing data to formulate and propose effective credit risk strategies and models for our lending products. Initially, your focus will be on Personal Loans, with opportunities to engage with other products as needed.


Your responsibilities will include independently crafting and executing underwriting strategies that align with our risk appetite, as well as monitoring and analyzing portfolio risk trends to provide insights and recommendations for strategy improvements.

You will collaborate with various teams, including Business Units, Operations, Marketing, Finance, Capital Markets, Product Development, Engineering, Legal, and Compliance.


Utilizing your business acumen along with quantitative and analytical skills, you will drive revenue growth, manage risk, and deliver value to both the company and our members.

What You'll Need:
3+ years of relevant experience
Strong business insight and experience in consumer lending (loans or credit cards)
Direct involvement in the credit strategy analytical lifecycle, including strategy development, P&L management, presentation, implementation validation, and post-implementation review
Proven analytical expertise in conducting complex analyses using customer performance data, bureau attributes, and third-party variables to address business challenges
Proficient in Excel, SQL, and Python
A demonstrated ability to synthesize and present analysis to business partners and senior leadership
High motivation to achieve results, a desire to learn, and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment
Knowledge of analytical and modeling techniques such as decision trees, regression analysis, and test design.

Preferred: 3+ years of experience in personal loan credit risk

Preferred:
Experience in developing credit strategies utilizing innovative data sources, including cash flow or alternative data

Preferred:
Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or Computer Science.
