Job Description

At Currency Cloud, we're seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Platform Engineering organization, you'll play a critical role in the development, maintenance, and support of our z/TPF Operating System.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and enhance the z/TPF Operating System to ensure seamless performance and reliability.
  • Provide online support and ownership of problem resolution for z/TPF, collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve complex issues.
  • Develop and create Systems software, CP enhancements, TLD, and APAR maintenance on the z/TPF platform to meet business requirements.
  • Assist Systems Engineers in developing efficient z/TPF enhancements and maintenance, ensuring smooth delivery of all requirements.
  • Liaise with Applications and Support Groups to ensure effective coordination and communication across multiple organizations.
  • Work on integration of emerging technologies into current system documentation, installation, configuration, and operation procedures.
  • Lead technical projects, including Proof of Concept evaluations, and mentor junior staff to drive technical development.
Requirements
  • 8+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 11+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Expert knowledge of IBM High Level Assembler, proficient knowledge of C++ and system build components on the z/TPF platform.
  • Expert level analytical skills, including dump analysis, and familiarity with various z/TPF software and maintenance processes.
  • Expert knowledge of VPARS, z/TPF Toolkit, and testing z/TPF software in a VM environment.
  • Sufficient knowledge of Linux to support z/TPF SIP processes.
  • Extensive experience in all elements of the software engineering discipline from requirements gathering through to implementation.
  • Ability to work effectively on multiple concurrent assignments with both technical and business staff.
  • Flexible, self-motivated, detail-oriented, lifelong learner with high work standards who can perform as an individual contributor, mentor, collaborative team member, or inclusive leader of a team.
  • Excellent written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
Additional Information

This is a hybrid position, requiring occasional travel (5-10% of the time). The position will be performed in an office setting, with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
