About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Development Engineer to join our team in the College of Sciences. As a key member of our Infrastructure Engineering group, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and administering specialized IT infrastructure and related systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide architectural design, installation, and maintenance for core systems.
  • Develop and implement programming services in support of network and core systems.
  • Conduct system-related training and provide end-user support in areas related to programming, scripting, supercomputing, and operating systems.
  • Advise faculty, staff, and others on the use of computing resources and systems.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Four to six years of job-related experience in higher education.
  • Advanced knowledge in architectural design, installation, and maintenance of specialized software and hardware.
  • Detailed knowledge of core systems services, programming languages, and operating systems.
Preferred Qualifications

We are looking for candidates with experience in configuration management, automation, revision control, and programming languages such as Python, Bash, and PowerShell. Familiarity with tools like Salt Stack, SCCM, JAMF, and GitHub is also a plus.
