Job Summary

The Senior Systems Support Engineer is responsible for the advanced design, integration, implementation, and modification of various user information systems within a complex environment. This role involves coordinating the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of these systems. The engineer will provide both functional and technical expertise to support the operation and maintenance of user systems, which may include labs, training facilities, and general IT office software and hardware.

Key Responsibilities

1. Needs Analysis: Conduct thorough needs analysis and plan the installation of new or modified hardware/software solutions.

2. Requirements Development: Develop comprehensive functional and technical IT system requirements and specifications.

3. Technical Support: Provide expert technical support by managing system resources, administering accounts, and ensuring security and recoverability.

4. Performance Monitoring: Monitor system performance and generate reports to assess efficiency.

5. Server Support: Offer support for internal departmental servers.

6. Inventory Management: Maintain accurate hardware and software inventories and update software license management policies.

7. Technical Presentations: Deliver technical presentations to technical personnel and departmental administrators.

8. Project Leadership: May lead technical project teams and provide guidance to junior technical staff.

9. Additional Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Educational Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Other Required Qualifications: Valid Georgia Driver's License; may require handling hazardous materials and working in various environments. Physical demands may include lifting objects up to 75 pounds and working in confined spaces.

Experience: A minimum of four to six years of relevant experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications

Technical leadership skills and certifications such as Citrix Certified Professional or Citrix Certified Expert are preferred.

Skills

Advanced knowledge of IT systems design, installation, and maintenance is essential. Expertise in various applications and platforms is required.
