Job Summary

The Senior Systems Support Engineer is responsible for the advanced design, integration, implementation, and modification of a variety of user information systems within a complex environment. This role includes the coordination of installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of these systems. The engineer will provide both functional and technical expertise to support user systems operation and maintenance, which may involve assisting with labs, training facilities, and general IT office software and hardware.

Key Responsibilities

1. Needs Analysis: Conduct thorough needs analysis and plan the installation of new or modified hardware/software.

2. Requirements Development: Develop comprehensive functional and technical IT system requirements and specifications.

3. Technical Support: Provide technical support by managing system resources, administering accounts, and ensuring documentation and security protocols are followed.

4. Performance Monitoring: Monitor and report on system performance to ensure optimal operation.

5. Server Support: Support internal departmental servers to maintain functionality.

6. Inventory Management: Maintain hardware and software inventories, including developing and updating software license management policies.

7. Technical Presentations: Deliver technical presentations to technical personnel and user department administrators.

8. Project Leadership: May lead project technical teams and provide guidance to junior technical staff.

9. Additional Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Other Required Qualifications: Valid Georgia Driver's License; may require handling hazardous materials and working in environments with rotating machinery and high-pressure systems.

Experience: Four to six years of relevant experience in the field.

Preferred Qualifications

Citrix Certified Professional or Expert in Virtualization is preferred. Strong technical leadership skills are also desirable.

Skills
  • Knowledge of VDI Technology and Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktop.
  • Experience with Public Cloud, preferably Azure.
  • Familiarity with application delivery and packaging tools.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals.
