Finance Support Coordinator

Position Overview:
Mercy Flights Inc is seeking a dedicated part-time Staff Accountant (0.75 FTE) to join our team.
Role Summary:
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for a variety of accounting tasks that support the financial operations of the organization. Key responsibilities include managing accounts payable, processing payroll, preparing journal entries for various accounting periods, conducting bank reconciliations, and performing related financial activities.
Work Schedule: This position requires a commitment of 30 hours per week, Monday through Friday. It is a hybrid role, necessitating occasional office visits as required. For exceptional candidates, a fully remote option may be considered, limited to specific regions.
Compensation: Competitive salary based on qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:
- Review and maintain general ledger accounts, preparing necessary monthly, quarterly, and annual adjusting journal entries and accruals to ensure compliance with accounting standards.
- Conduct account analyses and perform reconciliations for balance sheet accounts, including bank statements.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure all financial transaction procedures are adhered to.
- Assist department leaders with various financial transactions and inquiries to provide effective solutions.
- Support the accounts payable process by accurately coding and entering invoices, processing payments, communicating with vendors, reconciling vendor statements, and working closely with internal staff.
- Review and authorize invoices to ensure proper documentation and account coding.
- Assist with the bi-weekly payroll process, including auditing time records, entering payroll and insurance deductions, and other payroll-related tasks.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required; a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business is preferred. A combination of education and experience will be considered.
- At least three (3) years of relevant accounting experience is required.
- Familiarity with NetSuite software is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) is essential.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel (intermediate to advanced level), as well as general ledger processing software.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and theories.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining proactive communication with supervisors.
- Excellent communication skills and a strong team-oriented approach are necessary.
