Position Overview

The Center for Energy and Environment is in search of a Proposal Development Coordinator. This role will report directly to the Director of Program and Business Development. As a Proposal Development Coordinator, you will manage the proposal creation process from the moment an RFP is issued until the contract is awarded. You will collaborate closely with subject matter experts and external partners to support proposal and business development initiatives, craft tailored content that results in persuasive and successful proposals, and oversee post-submission activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal experts and external partners to lead the proposal outline, structure, and content development, including:
    • Coordinating, reviewing, editing, and writing proposals with input from various stakeholders.
    • Creating RFP-compliant proposal content that is compelling and aligns with strategic objectives.
  • Interpret complex technical information and produce customized, persuasive text for proposals.
  • Develop reusable content for the proposal development library.
  • Assist in forming and supporting partnership agreements with external organizations by engaging with CEE's subject matter experts and senior management.
  • Represent CEE at conferences and other relevant events.
  • Prepare presentations for both internal and external audiences as necessary.
  • Work with CEE's marketing team on messaging, positioning, and strategies to support organizational growth and program development.
  • Provide technical writing, editing, and proofreading services as required.
  • Ensure timely production, assembly, and delivery of proposals in accordance with RFP/RFI requirements.
  • Establish a process to document lessons learned from proposals and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Over 5 years of proven experience in writing and editing large, complex proposals, or a similar combination of education and experience with a strong track record of delivering high-quality work (samples may be requested).
  • Exceptional communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Experience in developing and managing materials in response to RFPs/RFIs/RFQs/RFAs.
  • Background in consulting or sectors such as utility, energy, or environmental services is preferred.
  • Demonstrated planning, implementation, and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong time management and project management capabilities.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, with intermediate skills in Excel and SharePoint/One Drive.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud Suite is a plus.

The salary for this position will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
