The Ladders is in search of a proactive and strategic Vice President of Operations to manage and enhance the operational aspects of our ministry. This executive will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer and will play a crucial role on the Executive Team. Responsibilities include providing oversight, leadership, and guidance to various operational sectors, ensuring they function efficiently, align with our mission and values, and collaborate seamlessly with all other ministry areas to deliver an exceptional client experience. The ideal candidate will be a dedicated, strategic, systems-oriented leader who embodies our mission and values and possesses a strong background in leading teams to foster impactful and transformative work.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Oversight: Provide strategic and operational direction to various departments. Ensure alignment with The Ladders' overarching goals and strategies while supporting our commitment to creating excellent care environments. Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for operational sectors. Utilize data and analytics to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement. Develop and manage budgets for all operational areas, ensuring effective use of financial resources in line with organizational priorities. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies. Implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential operational challenges.

Strategic Development: Collaborate with the CEO and Executive Team to formulate and execute both short-term and long-term operational strategies that resonate with our organization's mission, vision, and values. Propel initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and support organizational growth. Leverage analytics to assess the impact of our operational programs and initiatives, providing insights to the Executive Team for informed decision-making. Engage with internal and external stakeholders to forge strategic partnerships that bolster our organizational and operational initiatives.

Team Development: Lead and mentor the operations team, nurturing a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Ensure team members are equipped to thrive in their current roles and are prepared for future career advancements. Collaborate with Human Resources to implement training and development programs aimed at enhancing team performance.

Facilities Management: Establish and maintain exemplary facilities designed for trauma-informed care that inspire hope and healing for all who enter. Ensure all facilities are well-maintained, safe, compliant with regulatory standards, and reflect our mission, vision, and strategy. Develop and implement maintenance and improvement plans to support service delivery.

Food Services Management: Oversee the operations of our food services, ensuring high-quality, nutritious meals are provided in safe and compliant kitchen environments. Implement processes to enhance food service delivery and efficiency.

Thrift Operations Management: Supervise the management of thrift store operations, ensuring they function efficiently, meet financial targets, and support the mission. Develop strategies to maximize revenue and operational effectiveness.

Fleet Management: Oversee the acquisition, management, maintenance, and utilization of the organization's fleet of vehicles. Ensure they are well-maintained, safe, and used efficiently to support the operational needs of our ministry.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, operations management, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in operations management, particularly in nonprofit or mission-driven organizations.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing diverse operational areas.
  • Strong strategic planning, organizational, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Preferred experience in leading large capital facilities projects.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management capabilities, with a proven track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience in budget management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
