Job Summary:
The Executive Vice President of Operations will be responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing day-to-day operational activities in the organization. This includes ensuring the development and implementation of efficient operations and cost-effective systems to meet current and future needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance profitability, productivity, and efficiency throughout the organization's operations.
- Process Improvement: Implement improved processes, management methods, and systems that will generate higher ROI and productivity, workflow optimization, and revenue.
- Financial Management: Have P&L responsibility over assigned region or business function(s); influence and make business decisions on how company resources are allocated and find ways to generate a positive ROI.
- Contract Execution: Execute agreed-upon contracts in the region or business function.
- Stakeholder Management: Proactively build and maintain stakeholder and customer relationships vital to the success of the client and the organization.
- Communication: Interact regularly with the Executive Management team and individual department heads to ensure that organization's operational priorities are aligned with total company direction.
- Process Improvement Measures: Investigate and introduce process improvement measures and present suggestions for consideration.
- Reporting: Review and approve cost-control reports, cost estimates, and staffing requirements for projects.
- Performance Metrics: Present periodic performance reports and metrics to the President and other Executive leadership.
- Training and Development: Identify training needs and ensure proper training is developed and provided.
- Policies and Strategic Plans: Formulate policies and strategic plans for future growth and manage daily operations of purchasing and administration of other departments.
- Future Needs: Work with Executive leaders to develop plans to meet future needs of the organization.
- Profit Margins: Maintain profit margins, according to established objectives, and develop or maintain internal control systems to ensure accountability.
- Vendor Negotiations: Participate in vendor negotiations to ensure product relevance and cost-efficiency.
- Staff Management: Recruit, interview, hire, and train staff; also responsible for handling discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company practice.
- Adherence to Standards: Adhere to internal standards, policies, and procedures.
- Special Projects: Perform special projects and complete other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Science/Management, Engineering, or equivalent field; equivalent work experience, or combination of work and education, may be substituted.
- Experience: 10+ years' experience overseeing DB/EPC/CMAR projects in the power delivery industry preferred; ability to demonstrate thorough knowledge of materials, methods, and equipment used in transmission, distribution, and substation work; must have proven strategic planning and budgeting experience (experience managing P/L), demonstrated experience setting, monitoring, and meeting quarterly and annual goals, and experience building and scaling teams and systems.
