Position Overview:

The Logistics Center Supervisor is accountable for orchestrating and managing the workflow within the various departments of the distribution hub to ensure timely delivery and high-quality service. This role necessitates a professional demeanor and a proactive attitude towards all colleagues and staff members. A thorough comprehension of operational systems and processes is essential for success in this position.

Work Schedule: This role operates Monday through Friday, from 6 AM to 2:30 PM, with mandatory overtime as required by business demands.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement necessary protocols in case of environmental incidents or workplace injuries, possessing a foundational understanding of OSHA guidelines, incident rates, and first aid.
  • Ensure proper personal protective equipment (PPE) is utilized by team members and promote accountability in its usage.
  • Interpret process flows and applicable specifications, work instructions, and planning utilized in distribution operations.
  • Understand the audit process and the significance of transparent reporting, equipment functionality, and suggest improvements as needed.
  • Maintain awareness of the end customer and supply chain dynamics.
  • Possess basic knowledge of Lean Six Sigma tools and DMAIC fundamentals.
  • Monitor inventory operational plans and performance metrics, distinguishing between raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
  • Analyze operational plans and weekly performance, correlating results with established goals.
  • Demonstrate the ability to establish UPH/CPH targets based on historical data and understand the components of VCPU.
  • Recognize the distinction between material and conversion cost productivity.
  • Understand general business and financial planning processes, including gross and operating margins.
  • Participate in daily production meetings, support shift start-up meetings, and lead ergonomic initiatives.
  • Have knowledge of the critical path for material flow throughout the entire process for retail and direct-to-consumer operations.
  • Exhibit logistics knowledge, including truck routes for incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Calculate productivity metrics and inputs necessary for determining required staffing levels.
  • Understand the risks associated with making delivery commitments to customers.
  • Navigate the site's ERP systems effectively.
  • Possess a basic understanding of warehouse management systems and troubleshoot as necessary.
  • Comprehend various operational functions and their interdependencies.
  • Recognize the importance of employee relations through effective communication.
  • Understand the significance of team buy-in before implementing significant changes.
  • Be aware of the collaborative culture fostered within the facility and its impact on business outcomes.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to meet the physical demands necessary to perform essential job functions with or without accommodation.
  • Required to remain in a stationary position for scheduled hours, which may include weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly required to communicate using various methods.
  • Engage in kneeling, stooping, climbing stairs, reaching, pulling, and moving weights ranging from 0-25 pounds frequently, and 25-40 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to move up to 40 pounds at least 25 feet occasionally with assistance.
  • May be required to work temporarily in different locations with varying physical demands based on business needs.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • One year of experience in a distribution center is preferred.
  • Yellow Belt Six Sigma certification is preferred.
  • Familiarity with basic Lean concepts is preferred.
  • Prior knowledge of automated distribution center systems and current RF technology is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across various organizational levels.
  • Ability to learn and retain a comprehensive understanding of all operational systems and processes.
  • Capable of reading, writing, operating a computer, performing business-related mathematics, and analyzing data as required.
  • Skilled in conflict management and de-escalation techniques.
  • Proactive in developing personal skills and competencies.

Work Environment:

This position is based in a warehouse setting, with limited outdoor exposure during work hours. The role frequently utilizes standard warehouse equipment such as hand trucks, box cutters, RF scanners, computers, and tape dispensers. Temporary assignments in different locations may be required based on business needs.

Compensation and Benefits:

The compensation range for this position is between $20.00 and $25.00 per hour, reflecting the anticipated low and high end of the pay scale. Actual compensation will be determined based on the applicant's education, experience, skills, and internal equity, as well as market alignment. Benefits include:
