The Maintenance Supervisor will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation of our distribution center. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the completion of preventative maintenance tasks, repairing material handling equipment and facilities, and providing guidance to maintenance stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Operational Oversight: Ensure the daily operations of the maintenance department are running smoothly, identifying and resolving operational inefficiencies through maintenance processes.
- Team Supervision: Supervise a team of technicians on facility maintenance, including facility clean-up, landscaping, plumbing, office repairs, lighting, fire suppression systems, automatic doors, racking, generators, compressors, basic HVAC inspections, and electrical repairs.
- Equipment Maintenance: Oversee technicians on the inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of Material Handling Equipment, including Powered Industrial Trucks, Carts, Trikes, Yard Trucks, and a large variety of Conveyance.
- Automation Systems: Supervise technicians on the troubleshooting and repair of all automation systems, including Programmable Logic Controllers, Control Panels, AC Motors, Variable Frequency Drives, Motor Starters, Encoders, Communications Systems, and all supporting hardware/software.
- Troubleshooting: Support technicians through troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, basic electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic problems.
- Vendor Coordination: Coordinate with vendors on all facets of maintenance, from routine building repairs to HVAC repairs and required fire suppression inspections in accordance with National Fire Protection Association Standards.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with Technical Support Vendors to quickly troubleshoot and repair important production systems to reduce downtime.
- Team Development: Mentor team members through coaching and feedback sessions, assisting in their ongoing development.
- Documentation: Update and review technicians' updates utilizing the Computerized Maintenance Management System.
- Shop Tools and Equipment: Provide oversight of all shop tools, parts, maintenance carts, and ensure accountability, serviceability, and cleanliness.
- OSHA Compliance: Ensure all technicians are following all OSHA standards, safety guidelines, and company policies.
- Communication and Collaboration: Proficiently communicate with associates, peers, and management in real-time using multiple communication platforms.
- Departmental Oversight: Monitor and enforce departmental, facility, and company policies and procedures.
- Quality Control: Quality control work of technicians to ensure completion of tasks, required repairs, and preventative maintenance to manufacturers' specifications and safety standards.
- Adaptability: Adapt to new working conditions and be able to work a flexible schedule, including increased peak season hours as needed.
- Time Management: Review and approve all team members' time entries in timekeeping and production management systems.
- Education: Associate's degree or Technical Certification in Logistics, Maintenance Management, Industrial Technology, or equivalent years of work-related experience.
- Experience: Comprehensive experience working with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Teams.
- Technical Knowledge: Previous knowledge of Electrical Systems, Conveyance, or Material Handling Maintenance technology is preferred.
