Position Summary:
The Material Handling Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the precise storage, shipping, and receiving of products, adhering to our standards of safety, security, and efficiency. This position may involve operating various types of powered industrial trucks (PIT) such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Efficiently load and unload products from trailers while maintaining safety protocols.
- Organize and stack products in designated storage areas using appropriate equipment.
- Rotate inventory based on customer specifications.
- Assist in maintaining inventory integrity and support physical inventory counts.
- Perform tasks related to labeling, sorting, wrapping, and packing as necessary.
- Accurately pick and prepare orders for shipment.
- Safely operate material handling equipment and conduct daily inspections.
- Identify and report any damaged or missing products to warehouse management.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere to safety regulations and best practices in all operations.
- Engage professionally with colleagues, customers, and vendors.
- Complete necessary documentation and reports as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Education: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years operating powered industrial trucks or similar equipment.
- Skills: Proficient in basic English communication, mathematics, and computer usage. Strong teamwork and initiative are essential.
- Certifications: Forklift Certification is required.
- Ability to stand, sit, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Capability to navigate through confined spaces and work in varying temperature conditions.
- Exposure to noise levels that may require hearing protection.
