Business Development Leader

A highly motivated Business Development Leader is required to drive the success of our financial services operations. Reporting to the District Director of Operations, this individual will be responsible for overseeing marketing efforts, championing store security and loss prevention, enforcing adherence to quality standards, and reviewing transactions to create an environment that fosters growth and innovation.
Duties and Responsibilities- Leadership and Team Development: Coach, lead, and develop all store employees to achieve new business and increase store growth by demonstrating knowledge of and training on systems, Company standards, account management, recovery (collections), job duties, and performance reports.
- Marketing and Community Engagement: Lead the charge and set the example for all store employees to identify local marketing strategies, use business-to-business partnership opportunities, obtain referrals, host and participate in community and in-store events to steer growth and build revenue.
- Security and Compliance: Enforce adherence to quality standards, procedures, and local and state laws and regulations. Audit loan/pawn agreements and transactions to ensure staff accordance with procedures and practices. Participate in audits and compliance reviews as directed by the corporate office or District Manager.
- Cash Management and Loss Prevention: Supervise and maintain office security including cash management and loss prevention by verifying and documenting cash overages/shortages, vault, inventory, deposits, and expenses. Conduct proper opening and closing procedures.
- Lending and Risk Assessment: Examine, evaluate, and process loan/pawn applications and all relevant transactions, and assess risk within established limits.
- Recruitment and Talent Development: Participate in the selection, review, hiring, and retention of new employees.
- Work Scheduling and Staffing: Develop work schedules in accordance with budget, workloads, and store needs. Ensure store is staffed for optimal performance.
- Customer Service: Handle complex customer situations that arise with integrity and professionalism.
- Facilities Maintenance: Monitor and maintain internal and external store appearance and address basic facilities needs, including scheduling maintenance services. This includes overseeing store planogram and ensuring seasonal and/or promotional marketing material are displayed properly.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
- Minimum two years of experience and proven success in a supervisory or leadership role in retail, financial, service, or related industries.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work phone, Point of Sale, Microsoft Office, and other systems.
- Valid driver's license, auto insurance, and personal vehicle to use throughout the workday (mileage compensated).
- Must be at least 18 years of age (19 in Alabama).
- Background check required (subject to applicable law).
- Ability to meet the physical demands of this position, which frequently include: the ability to remain in a stationary position, including standing up to 90% of the time, the ability to move and transport up to 25 pounds, the ability to move about inside and outside of the store, and the operation of mechanical controls, such as a keyboard.
- Associate degree or higher.
- Experience in check cashing, document verification, money order processing.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus and may be required for certain locations.
We offer a competitive salary of $$65,000 - $80,000 per year, based on experience, and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, paid time off, and educational reimbursement program. The estimated salary range is based on national averages and may vary depending on location and other factors.
