POSITION SUMMARY:

The Operations Support Specialist plays a crucial role in assisting the leadership team by executing daily administrative functions. This includes, but is not limited to, creating work schedules, assigning responsibilities, verifying documentation, and aiding in inventory management. The specialist will support team members in achieving daily productivity targets established by management. Compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, processes, and systems is essential to ensure optimal production quality. It is vital to ensure that all operational activities align with the company's standards and regulatory requirements concerning documentation, intellectual property protection, and confidentiality.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Develop and adjust work schedules as needed to guarantee sufficient coverage for daily production objectives.
  2. Investigate and resolve system and documentation issues raised by team members.
  3. Conduct quality assessments on processing documentation, including monitoring lot numbers, expiration dates, processing times, and temperatures of storage units.
  4. Assist in reviewing and maintaining cleaning logs.
  5. Alert the Facilities or Engineering team regarding equipment requiring repairs and coordinate routine preventative maintenance or scheduled repairs to ensure equipment reliability and cleanliness.
  6. Contribute innovative ideas to the company's continuous improvement initiatives in tissue processing; communicate with management and propose solutions for emerging issues.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

A High School Diploma is required; a BA/BS in life sciences is preferred. Candidates should have over 3 years of experience in biotech, pharmaceuticals, medical, or clean manufacturing environments, with at least 2 years in processing or laboratory technician roles. A solid understanding of Good Documentation Practice (GDP), Good Tissue Practice (GTP), Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), and safety protocols is essential. Familiarity with AATB regulations is also required.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:

Exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills are necessary for effective interaction with individuals at all organizational levels, emphasizing customer service. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Excel, Word) is required. The ability to prioritize tasks and respond urgently to inquiries is crucial. Candidates must demonstrate effective time management and organizational skills, with the capacity to multitask while maintaining a high level of efficiency and attention to detail. Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities are essential, along with a willingness to develop the necessary skills for the role.
