Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiation Physics Specialist II to join our team at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing radiation physics services for pediatric patients in the Department of Radiation Oncology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver Accurate Radiation Doses: Coordinate and interact with appropriate personnel to ensure the delivery of accurate radiation doses to pediatric patients.
  • Develop and Implement Policies: Participate in the development and implementation of policies and procedures in radiation physics and radiation safety to facilitate accurate and safe delivery of radiation doses.
  • Provide Educational Support: Provide and support learning needs through educational activities that promote continuous improvement and compliance with patient care standards.
  • Participate in Budget Preparation: Participate in budget preparation and equipment specifications and purchases by interacting with the director to ensure adequate and uninterrupted services to patients.
  • Organize and Document Records: Organize and document all radiation physics records in coordination with appropriate staff and physicians to ensure accurate and timely performance of procedures.
  • Participate in Quality Improvement: Participate in departmental quality improvement/control activities, develop, implement, maintain, and report department quality improvement plan in accordance with department, hospital, and The Joint Commission standards.
  • Assist with Orientation and Training: Assist with the orientation and training of new staff.
  • Maintain Regular Attendance: Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
Requirements
  • Education: MS or PhD in Physical Sciences required.
  • Experience: Four (4) years of experience with MS in Physics.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Completion of Part II of the American Board of Radiology Exam.
