Conducts radiation physics services for pediatric patients within the Department of Radiation Oncology, adhering to established standards of practice.

Ensures precise delivery of radiation doses to pediatric patients.

Undertakes additional related responsibilities as assigned or directed to fulfill the department's and organization's objectives.


Key Responsibilities:


Executes designated radiation physics tasks to guarantee the accurate delivery of radiation doses to pediatric patients by collaborating and engaging with relevant personnel.

Contributes to the formulation and execution of policies and procedures in radiation physics and safety, ensuring the accurate and secure administration of radiation doses in line with accepted protocols.

Facilitates and supports educational initiatives that foster continuous improvement and adherence to patient care standards.

Engages in budget planning and equipment specifications and acquisitions by liaising with the director to ensure consistent and reliable services for patients.

Organizes and maintains all radiation physics documentation in collaboration with appropriate staff and physicians to ensure timely and accurate execution of procedures.

Participates in departmental quality enhancement/control initiatives. Develops, implements, maintains, and reports on the department's quality improvement plan in compliance with departmental, hospital, and The Joint Commission standards. Engages in interdepartmental collaborative quality enhancement efforts. Assists the director of radiation physics in upholding the quality control program for Radiation Therapy. Maintains compliance with JCAHO standards.
Assists in the orientation and training of new personnel.

Undertakes additional related responsibilities as assigned or directed to fulfill the department's and organization's objectives.

Maintains consistent and reliable attendance.

Minimum Education and/or Training:
Master's or Doctorate in Physical Sciences required.

Minimum Experience:
Four (4) years of experience with a Master's in Physics.
Completion of Part II of the American Board of Radiology Exam is preferred.

Compensation
In accordance with certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude provides a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this position.

This estimate is provided in good faith, and specific salary offers will consider factors such as skill sets, experience, training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.

It is uncommon for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range, and compensation decisions depend on the specific facts and circumstances of each case.

A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $138,320 - $262,080 per year for the role of Radiation Physicist II.
