About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Medical Physicist to join our team at Baptist Memorial Healthcare Corporation. As a key member of our Radiation Oncology department, you will be responsible for providing medical physics services to support the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Medical Physics Services: Develop and implement techniques for standardizing and calibrating imaging and therapy equipment, perform treatment planning for special cases, and provide consultation to physicians as needed.
  • Quality Assurance: Perform acceptance testing, measurements, commissioning, and ongoing quality assurance testing of linear accelerators, treatment planning systems, and physics equipment to ensure accuracy and safety.
  • Staff Coordination: Assist with the coordination of Physics and Dosimetry staffing across the metro market, ensuring that all patients receive appropriate and timely care.
  • Protocol Development: Assist in the development of protocols for patient care to ensure that planning is evidence-based and optimizes patient outcomes.
  • Research Support: Assist with research needs in support of the BCC Clinical Trials Committee.
  • Education and Training: Participate in the clinical education of Radiology residents as it relates to Radiation Oncology.
  • Quality Control: Oversee quality control measures and collate and document all aspects of physics services.
  • Performance Improvement: Participate in performance improvement and radiation safety activities.
Requirements
  • Education: Master's degree in Medical Physics or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in a progressive radiation oncology department, with academic experience preferred.
  • Licensure and Certification: BLS certification within 14 days of hire, ABR certification, and advanced computer skills.
