About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as the Director of Event Sales and Partnerships at the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science. As a key member of our Event Rentals department, you will be responsible for guiding customers through event experiences by providing solutions that meet their goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Event Sales Strategy: Develop and execute a sales plan to grow event revenue opportunities that aligns with the objectives of the department and organization throughout the year.
  • Customer Relationships: Identify new and repeat event business, thoroughly research and understand customer history and previous experiences with the museum to create more personalized customer experiences.
  • Partnerships and Collaborations: Identify and provide the Advancement team with clients that may have contribution or partnership potential, work collaboratively and communicate frequently with internal partners on event-related opportunities and challenges.
  • Event Operations: Develop and execute standard operating procedures in collaboration with Event Operations to ensure a smooth customer event experience, from sales inquiry to event breakdown.
  • Communication and Reporting: Be the go-to contact person for any event-related questions and queries, prepare Event budget and monitor expenses for facility rentals and catering sales, ensure all known opportunities and communications are logged into the CRM system and updated at all times.
  • Performance and Analysis: Create and present information and reports, as needed, to senior management related to performance, pipeline, forecasting, etc.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience, 5+ years of experience in event sales.
  • Skills and Abilities: Exacting attention to detail and excellent customer service, ability to work with major partners, experience collaborating with others, highly organized with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and timelines, strong written and verbal communication skills, excellence in the English language (oral and written) required; Spanish preferred.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be available to work evenings and weekends on a consistent basis, must be able to stand for long periods of time, move quickly from space to space to quickly resolve issues and oversee events team members, must be able to work for extended periods of time in elements such as sun, heat, wind, etc.

  • Background Clearance: Background clearance required.
  • Drug Screening: Drug screening as part of the Drug Free Workplace Program.
