Role Overview:
The Registered Nurse (RN) delivers compassionate nursing care to patients with terminal illnesses. This role involves supporting families during home care situations and bereavement, while collaborating with the hospice team to provide exceptional care.

Required Qualifications:
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Indiana.
  • Active patient care experience within the last three years is preferred.
  • Ability to work autonomously and make informed, timely decisions.
  • Capability to respond effectively to crises outside of a hospital environment.
  • Acceptance and adaptability to diverse social, cultural, and religious backgrounds.
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular assessments of the nursing needs of hospice patients.
  • Provide dietary guidance as needed.
  • Administer hospice nursing services, treatments, and preventive care.
  • Initiate nursing procedures that ensure patient safety and comfort.
  • Monitor and report any changes in the patient's physical or emotional state to the physician and interdisciplinary team.
  • Educate and support patients and their families in care provision.
  • Oversee and mentor other nursing staff.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and update patient care plans.
  • Perform specific nursing tasks as required, following physician orders.
  • Participate in team meetings and conferences.
  • Maintain accurate records as mandated by hospice regulations.
  • Adhere to hospice policies and procedures, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Communicate promptly with supervisors regarding any unmet patient needs or procedural challenges.
  • Participate in the on-call system and provide coverage as necessary.
