We are seeking a Biologics Coordinator to oversee all aspects related to biologic medications. This role is crucial in managing inventory, tracking patient-specific medications, and working closely with healthcare providers who specialize in conditions such as Dermatitis, Eczema, and Psoriasis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Navigate the complexities of insurance companies and pharmacies to secure timely prior authorizations and appeal decisions when necessary.
  • Efficiently complete all required paperwork to expedite the approval process for biologic medications.
  • Collaborate with specialty pharmacies to ensure prompt and effective service for patients.
  • Stay informed about manufacturer recommendations, formulary changes, claim denials, and other pertinent information regarding biologic medications.
  • Possess a strong understanding of biologic medications, including their indications and storage requirements.
  • Provide detailed and accurate patient education regarding biologic therapies.
  • Assist with administrative tasks related to any studies the practice participates in.
  • Work with all staff to ensure an adequate supply of medication samples.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in dermatology is preferred.
  • In-depth understanding of prior authorization processes and the necessary steps to obtain them successfully.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology, ICD10 codes, and HIPAA regulations.
  • Proficient in various computer applications, including EMR, Excel, and Microsoft Word.
  • Ability to multitask and perform efficiently under pressure.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to grammar and punctuation.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, providers, and management.
Work Environment:
  • Ability to work in an office setting and remain seated at a desk for extended periods.
  • Proficiency in using a computer for the majority of the workday.
