Role Overview:

The NVH & Durability CAE Analysis Team Leader will offer technical oversight and mentorship to a segment of the CAE analysis group within the CAE division. This position involves collaborating on projects for both large and small clients, ensuring that specific requirements and deadlines are met. Responsibilities include managing CAE analysts, reviewing analytical files and outcomes, and engaging with clients to facilitate program quotations and interactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert guidance in assessing engineering concepts, evaluating trade-offs, and conducting risk assessments using analytical methodologies.
  • Lead the team in developing CAE models for diverse applications in automotive, defense, aerospace, and industrial sectors utilizing commercial software.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of analysis inputs, models, and results, performing hands-on CAE analysis as necessary.
  • Support analyses with robust engineering explanations and perform hand calculations as needed.
  • Collaborate with management to review results and communicate findings to clients.
  • Engage with clients to ensure high-quality task completion while adhering to timelines.
  • Enhance existing capabilities and innovate new analytical methods as part of ongoing improvement efforts.
  • Contribute to proposal development and technical sales, and participate in the recruitment of new graduates.
  • Maintain organized information in designated locations and ensure data integrity in line with company policies.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with diverse audiences and stakeholders at all levels.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in CAE (Computer-Aided Engineering) focused on the application of CAE tools in the design of vehicles, defense systems, aerospace, and amusement park structures.
  • Proven experience in correlation, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and optimization analysis.
  • Expertise in stress analysis, nonlinear analysis, and durability assessment of various materials and components.
  • Experience in modal analysis, point mobility, acoustic analysis, mount tuning, and full vehicle model analysis.
  • Strong skills in modeling and simulation with the ability to tackle novel engineering challenges.
  • Solid understanding of kinematics, statics, and dynamics.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, along with leadership capabilities to mentor junior analysts.
  • In-depth knowledge of material strength, failure theories for metals and composites, and vibration principles.
  • Advanced proficiency in finite element analysis software (e.g., Altair Hyperworks, ANSA & META, NASTRAN, ABAQUS, LSDYNA, OPTISTRUCT).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 10 years of experience in the CAE field, including supervisory or leadership roles.
  • Experience in the Defense, Aerospace, or Entertainment industries with a focus on structural dynamics, mechanics, durability, noise and vibration, and shock analysis.
  • Familiarity with full vehicle 'CAE to Test' correlation, optimization, trade-off evaluations, and suspension and powertrain integration.
  • Eligibility as a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident for compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
  • Experience in the technical marketing of engineering services.
