Position Overview:
The NVH & Durability CAE Engineering Supervisor will offer technical leadership and guidance to a segment of the CAE analysis team within the CAE department. This role involves collaborating on projects for a diverse clientele, both internal and external, to fulfill specific requirements and deadlines.
The supervisor will oversee CAE analysts, review analytical files and results, and assist with program estimates and client interactions. The NVH & Durability CAE Engineering Supervisor will tackle structural engineering challenges to support the initial design phases of vehicles, defense systems, aerospace projects, and amusement park ride structures.
Key Responsibilities:
As a NVH & Durability CAE Engineering Supervisor, you will:
- Provide technical direction in assessing engineering concepts, evaluating trade-offs, and conducting risk assessments using analytical tools.
- Guide the team in constructing CAE models for various applications in automotive, defense, aerospace, and industrial sectors utilizing commercial software.
- Independently review analysis inputs, models, and results, and conduct hands-on CAE analysis as necessary.
- Support analysis with robust engineering explanations and manual calculations.
- Review findings with management and communicate results to clients.
- Engage with clients to ensure high-quality task completion while adhering to timelines.
- Enhance existing capabilities and develop new analytical methods as part of continuous improvement initiatives.
- Participate in proposal development and technical sales, as well as in the recruitment process for new graduates.
- Maintain relevant information in designated locations and ensure data management aligns with company policies.
- Interact confidently and professionally with diverse audiences and stakeholders at all levels.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
At least 6 years of experience in CAE (Computer-Aided Engineering) applications related to the initial design of vehicles, defense systems, aerospace projects, and amusement park ride structures.
Experience in correlation, troubleshooting, and optimization analysis.
Proficiency in stress analysis, nonlinear analysis, and durability assessments of various materials.
Familiarity with modal analysis, point mobility, acoustic analysis, mount tuning, and full vehicle model analysis.
Strong aptitude for modeling and simulation, with the ability to address new engineering challenges.
Solid understanding of kinematics, statics, and dynamics.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, along with leadership abilities to mentor junior analysts.
Proficient in conducting effective technical discussions with customer engineering teams and conveying complex information to non-technical audiences.
Strong foundational knowledge in material strength, failure theories for metals and composites, and vibration principles.
Advanced skills in finite element analysis software (e.g., Altair Hyperworks, ANSA & META, NASTRAN, ABAQUS, LSDYNA, OPTISTRUCT).
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in mechanical engineering with 10 years of experience in the CAE field, including supervisory or leadership roles.
Experience in the Defense, Aerospace, or Entertainment industries, focusing on structural dynamics, mechanics, durability, noise and vibration, and shock analysis.
Experience with full vehicle 'CAE to Test' correlation, optimization, trade-off evaluations, and integration of suspension and powertrain systems.
U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency for compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Experience in the technical marketing of engineering services.
