We seek proactive, dedicated professionals to join our Systems Design Group (SD) hardware Operations team.

Position Summary:

The New Product Introduction (NPI) Materials Program Leader will operate within hardware operations in a dynamic, collaborative, and high-tech environment. This role will be responsible for orchestrating and implementing NPI product builds in collaboration with contract manufacturers (CMs). The NPI Materials Program Leader will also engage cross-functionally within operations, engineering, and with essential suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee material information flows (BOMs) between R&D, Global Commodity Managers (GCMs), and Contract Manufacturers (CMs) utilizing Synopsys product data management systems. Collaborate with engineering to ensure only Approved Vendors are listed and manage changes as the BOM evolves.
  • Ensure readiness to build with GCMs and Synopsys contract manufacturers in alignment with the NPI prototype plan and initial production ramp.
  • Clearly delineate engineering POs & production POs, acquire schedules for NPI engineering builds & NPI inventory builds. Collaborate with GCMs to obtain quotes from CMs and work with buyers to execute POs.
  • Ensure SAP is configured with part numbers and cost releases.
  • Ensure procurement places purchase orders for NPI prototype hardware.
  • Utilize NPI timelines and known lead times to determine PO placement dates.
  • Monitor the execution of POs by our CMs. Participate in status review meetings and follow up with CMs as necessary. Collaborate with CMs to ensure their internal processes can effectively execute builds as planned.
  • Create dashboards to ensure adherence to lead times and expedite as necessary. Summarize NPI material readiness, build plans, and high-level timelines based on requirements and provide status updates for management reviews.

  • Ensure that activities are well-defined, tracked, and integrated, emphasizing teamwork with other functions and key stakeholders. Monitor projects at both granular (task/issue level) and macro-level.
  • Facilitate problem-solving and identify mitigation actions regarding material availability issues. Maintain a strong bias for action to prioritize activities, keep momentum, and drive risk mitigation actions to completion. Employ a hands-on approach as needed.
Qualifications:

  • Proficient in program management fundamentals (planning, scheduling, executing, and monitoring). Familiarity with Excel and MS Teams is essential.
  • Experience managing BOMs and information flow across multiple sites, organizations, and functions.
  • Preferred experience with electronics, including the contract manufacturer business model, as well as exposure to product data management processes, supply chain, production planning, procurement processes, product return processes, and logistics.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with additional tools (Excel Macros, pivot tables, Power BI, and modern PLM systems such as Arena) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of or work experience with Lean Manufacturing and JIT manufacturing.
  • A continuous improvement mindset.
