Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team at Heartland Veterinary Partners LLC. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our veterinarians in delivering top-notch medical services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist veterinarians in the practice of veterinary medicine and surgery, including preparing patients for surgery and monitoring vital signs during procedures.
  • Take, develop, and maintain radiographs, following proper safety procedures.
  • Provide basic animal handling and restrain animals during exams.
  • Administer and monitor medications, anesthesia, vaccines, and treatments at the discretion of the veterinarian.
  • Clean and maintain exam rooms, treatment areas, and lab spaces, restocking supplies as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with veterinarians, practice team members, and clients, ensuring seamless patient care and satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Previous veterinary experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.
  • Practice OSHA safety techniques, including proper PPE.
  • Basic math skills and ability to calculate medication dosages.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with MS office applications.
  • Strong communication skills to ensure patient safety.
