Pet Butler is on the lookout for a dependable part-time Animal Care Specialist in the Columbus, OH region who will visit clients' residences and carry out tasks as specified by the clients. Responsibilities will encompass dog walking, engaging in outdoor play, feeding, and tending to the pets within the household, along with basic home care duties.

Key Responsibilities of the Animal Care Specialist:

  • Walk dogs of various breeds and sizes.
  • Provide love and playtime for dogs, cats, and small animals.
  • Conduct wellness assessments for each pet in the household and communicate any issues to the pet owner.
  • Feed pets and ensure their water supply is fresh.
  • Administer prescribed oral and topical medications as necessary.
  • Manage pet waste and maintain litter boxes.
  • Address any accidents that may occur in the home.
  • Perform basic house-sitting tasks such as collecting mail, watering plants, and disposing of garbage.
  • Ensure the safety, health, and happiness of our clients' pets.
  • Update pet owners about each visit through Pet Butler's Pet Care application.
  • Carry out other related tasks as assigned.
Job Requirements:
  • Availability on weekends is essential.
  • Flexible availability during weekdays to accommodate visits as required.
  • Possess a reliable, insured vehicle, a valid driver's license, and a clean driving record.
  • A genuine passion for animal care, ideally with previous experience.
  • Comfortable handling various types of animals (dogs, cats, small mammals, etc.).
  • Physically capable of managing dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments.
  • Able to work outdoors in diverse weather conditions.
  • Dependable, honest, organized, adaptable, and capable of working independently.
  • Exceptional communication, customer service, and time management skills.
  • Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Background check required following a contingent job offer.
