Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:
As an Animal Care Specialist, you will engage in meaningful work that directly contributes to the welfare of animals. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Providing essential support to the management team.
  • Evaluating and assessing animal health and participating in clinical procedures as per established protocols.
  • Addressing inquiries related to medical or behavioral concerns.
  • Coordinating appointments and preparing the clinic for daily operations.
  • Maintaining accurate medical records and histories.
  • Overseeing the activities of veterinary assistants and reporting any discrepancies.
  • Preparing surgical areas and ensuring all necessary information is verified.
  • Monitoring vital signs during procedures and maintaining accurate surgical logs.
  • Providing post-operative care instructions and ensuring the maintenance of surgical instruments.
  • Reporting any shelter or sanitation issues to management.
  • Assisting in inventory management and supply ordering as needed.
  • Participating in community outreach events and animal care activities.

Essential Qualifications:
Candidates should possess a combination of relevant education and experience, including an Associate's degree in Veterinary Technology and at least one year of experience in animal care.

Additional Requirements:
Registration as a Veterinary Technician is mandatory.

Work Schedule:
This is a full-time position requiring availability on weekends and holidays, with on-call responsibilities compensated accordingly.

Working Conditions:
Employees may be required to use personal protective equipment (PPE) while performing their duties. This role may involve evening and weekend shifts.
