Animal Care Technician

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the well-being and safety of animals involved in research and development initiatives.
  • Conduct regular room inspections to evaluate animal health and environmental conditions.
  • Document clinical observations in accordance with established standards and protocols.
  • Provide basic animal care, including receiving and maintaining animal enclosures.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment.
  • Handle and restrain rodents safely and humanely.
  • Perform various techniques to support in vivo studies, such as oral gavage, injections, blood collection, and necropsy.
  • Carry out rodent euthanasia and proper disposal of animal remains.
  • Utilize available resources and systems effectively, including standard operating procedures and computer applications.
  • Execute procedures in compliance with protocols, regulations, and laboratory standards.
Required Qualifications:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent, coupled with 1-3+ years of relevant experience in laboratory animal care and technical skills.
  • Prior experience with IP (Intraperitoneal) and SQ (Subcutaneous) injections.
  • Prior experience with mouse IV tail injections.
  • Prior experience with isoflurane anesthesia.
