Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate, monitor, and maintain utilities equipment and systems to ensure effective distribution of refrigeration, electrical supply, CO2, air, steam, condensate, and cooling water across all departments, guaranteeing continuous plant operation.
  • Diagnose issues with utilities equipment and provide assistance to production teams in resolving operational challenges.
  • Conduct and document compliance preventive maintenance on ammonia and CFC systems, along with other maintenance tasks as required.
  • Work independently or collaboratively in a dynamic team environment while gaining knowledge of complex, technical, and large-scale equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with Ammonia Refrigeration is required.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is necessary.
  • An associate degree in an industrial-related field such as HVAC, Electrical/Mechanical Technology, or Predictive Maintenance is preferred.
  • Experience in the Navy (Nuclear or Conventional) or Merchant Marine engine room is advantageous.
  • Industrial journeyman level experience and practical knowledge as a stationary engineer or in heavy industrial maintenance is essential.
  • A background as a Maintenance Technician is highly desirable.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs. and service equipment throughout the facility.
  • Willingness to work in physically confined spaces and assume awkward positions requiring bending, twisting, and agility.
  • Must be able to obtain Haz/Mat and Confined Space Rescue certifications.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Familiarity with machinery and equipment such as pumps, compressors, steam turbines, heat exchangers, and high-speed machinery.
  • Possession of a Universal CFC license, a valid driver's license, and forklift certification.
  • Basic proficiency with hand and power tools, as well as instrumentation and control systems.
  • Ability to use self-contained breathing apparatus in hazardous environments.
  • Comfortable working in environments with extreme temperatures, dust, high humidity, and elevated noise levels.
  • Capability to work at heights and around hazardous materials including ammonia, CO2, acids, and high voltage electricity.
