Primary Duties Include:

  • Support the crew leader in construction, renovation, and upkeep tasks.
  • Assist equipment operators with tasks such as hand digging and identifying underground obstacles.
  • Utilize specialized tools including jackhammers, rotary drills, and power actuated fasteners.
  • Communicate effectively with equipment operators to ensure proper alignment and movement of machinery and materials.
  • Maintain a safe working environment around heavy machinery such as backhoes and excavators.
  • Prepare and clean construction sites to mitigate potential hazards.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned.
Success Attributes:
  • Capability to engage in strenuous physical labor for extended durations, often in challenging weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift weights up to 80 lbs repeatedly throughout the work shift.
  • Proficiency in climbing, digging, and working in confined spaces, as well as navigating uneven surfaces.
  • Skill in comprehending and executing detailed oral and written instructions.
  • Capacity to work independently and collaboratively with team members.
  • Eligibility to pass motor vehicle and criminal background checks, along with adherence to a drug-free workplace policy.
  • Proficient use of English for record-keeping, ordering supplies, and drafting simple reports.
  • Willingness to acquire new skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in underground utility work is advantageous.
  • Possession of a CDL A license is a plus.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is beneficial.
Additional Requirements:
  • Must possess, or be able to obtain, a valid driver's license from the state of residence within two weeks of employment.
  • Candidates are required to pass criminal and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background checks, as well as a pre-employment drug screening.
