Career Transitions, LLC is seeking a Vice President of Metal Sourcing for a pivotal leadership position responsible for crafting and executing global procurement strategies for essential materials and metals to enhance supply chain efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability. This senior-level role oversees the procurement lifecycle, supplier relationship management, and strategic sourcing initiatives to bolster the company's international operations.

Key Responsibilities of the Vice President of Metal Sourcing:

  • Establish and oversee key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and enhance the supply chain performance of the team.
  • Formulate and implement comprehensive sourcing strategies for essential materials and metals to align with business goals.
  • Assess, evaluate, and select suppliers to guarantee optimal cost, quality, and delivery performance.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure favorable terms and conditions for the organization.
  • Create and maintain team and supplier dashboards focused on performance, implementing improvement plans as necessary.
  • Conduct regular supplier audits to ensure adherence to company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead cost reduction initiatives and value engineering projects to meet budgetary objectives.
  • Analyze market trends and perform cost benchmarking to uncover savings opportunities.
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including geopolitical, economic, and environmental factors, with contingency planning for potential disruptions.

Qualifications for the Vice President of Metal Sourcing:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in strategic sourcing and procurement, particularly with direct materials and metals. Group management experience is essential.
  • Demonstrated success in leading global sourcing initiatives and achieving cost savings.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships at all organizational levels.
  • Experience in supplier relationship management and contract negotiation.
  • Familiarity with market trends, industry standards, and regulatory requirements concerning direct materials and metals.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Supply Chain Management (e.g., CPSM, CSCP).
  • Experience with ERP systems and procurement software.
  • Knowledge of sustainability practices and initiatives in sourcing and procurement.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
