Position Overview

The Retail Operations Coordinator plays a crucial role in overseeing the financial and operational aspects of a retail setting. This position requires a solid understanding of accounting practices and bookkeeping within a retail framework. Responsibilities include cash management, bank deposit oversight, monitoring cash flow at the store level, and ensuring the integrity of cashier operations while preventing fraud.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the team’s success by aligning with the company's mission and values.
  • Exercise sound judgment in handling exchanges and returns per company guidelines.
  • Demonstrate service-oriented leadership within the department and across the store.
  • Review and verify cashiers' closing reports.
  • Prepare and balance daily bank deposits and cash in safes and registers.
  • Investigate gift card discrepancies and coordinate with Finance for corrections.
  • Process accounts receivable payments received at the store.
  • Manage store-use charges and charitable donations.
  • Analyze purchase reports for store management insights.
  • Submit necessary reports and documentation to the Home Office.
  • Handle coupon processing and submissions to the Home Office.
  • Manage tax exceptions for non-resident states.
  • Compile Paid Out/In reports.
  • Monitor hourly employees' timecards for management review.
  • Oversee annual records retention protocols.
  • Administer warranties for power equipment purchases.
  • Facilitate trailer sales documentation.
  • Manage office supply inventory.
  • Ensure a safe environment for both customers and team members.
  • Foster effective communication and positive relationships with team members.
  • Exhibit professional radio and phone communication etiquette.
  • In certain locations, may act as a 'key carrier' in collaboration with store management.
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Store Manager to set and achieve operational goals.
  • Assist Human Resources with onboarding and benefits documentation as required.
  • Perform additional duties as needed throughout the store.

  • Familiarity with standard retail concepts and practices.

Physical Requirements:

The role may involve:

  • Extended periods of sitting and standing.
  • Heavy lifting and repetitive motions (up to 50 lbs).
  • Bending, carrying, and pushing items.
  • Working from heights (e.g., ladders).
  • Frequent wrist movements while using a keyboard.
  • Close vision tasks for computer work.
