Job Overview

The Retail Office Coordinator plays a crucial role in managing the financial operations within a retail setting. This position requires a solid understanding of accounting practices and bookkeeping relevant to the retail industry. Key responsibilities include cash management, overseeing bank deposits, monitoring cash flow at the store level, and ensuring accurate cashier operations while preventing fraud.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the overall success of the store by aligning with the company's mission and values.
  • Exercise sound judgment in handling customer exchanges and returns, adhering to established policies.
  • Demonstrate leadership by fostering a service-oriented environment both within the department and across the store.
  • Review and verify cashiers' closing reports at the end of their shifts.
  • Prepare and balance daily bank deposits, ensuring cash is accurately accounted for in safes and registers.
  • Investigate gift card discrepancies and coordinate with the finance department for corrections.
  • Manage accounts receivable transactions processed at the store.
  • Track and account for store-related charges and charitable donations.
  • Analyze purchasing reports from team members for management review.
  • Submit necessary reports and documentation to the corporate office.
  • Handle coupon processing and tax exceptions as required.
  • Monitor and manage timecards for hourly employees.
  • Oversee the retention of annual records.
  • Manage warranties for power equipment purchases.
  • Facilitate the processing of sales paperwork for trailers.
  • Maintain inventory of office supplies.
  • Ensure a safe and welcoming environment for both customers and team members.
  • Communicate effectively to build positive relationships with colleagues.
  • Exhibit professionalism in all forms of communication.
  • In certain locations, may assist in store opening and closing procedures alongside management.
  • Collaborate with management to set and achieve operational goals.
  • Assist the Human Resources department with onboarding and benefits documentation as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as required throughout the store.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Positive attitude with a commitment to continuous learning.
  • Able to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with standard retail practices and procedures.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other Windows-based applications.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods.
  • Capable of lifting heavy items (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly.
  • Comfortable with bending, carrying, and pushing items.
  • Ability to work from heights using a ladder.
  • Frequent wrist movements for computer use.
  • Close vision required for detailed work on computers.
