Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The main function of this role is to set up, operate, and oversee manufacturing machinery. The operator is responsible for ensuring that machines produce high-quality products efficiently and effectively. This includes managing machine-specific tasks in production lines according to established work instructions and specifications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work the 3rd Shift - 10:00 PM to 6:15 AM from Sunday to Thursday
  • Comprehend and execute all tasks related to furnace equipment
  • Adhere to Operations' Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Achieve all production and quality targets
  • Operate a narrow web retort furnace
  • Load and manage furnace materials:
  • Handle roll-to-roll web slicing and transfer rolls of coated materials
  • Monitor furnace operations for optimal performance
  • Control temperature, hydrogen flow, and processing speed
  • Ensure the quality of produced materials, avoiding any abrasions or damages
  • Manage alloying processes and maintain uniformity
  • Document furnace material accurately
  • Record production quantities as required
  • Conduct thorough cleaning of the furnace retort and associated equipment
  • Maintain a tidy and organized workspace
  • Understand and take responsibility for safety, quality, and operational processes
  • Identify and report any operational issues to supervisors
  • Maintain daily production logs for each task
  • Accurately complete daily time sheets
  • Meet or exceed safety, quality, and production standards
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
  • Lift and move products as necessary
  • Perform housekeeping duties to uphold a 5S work environment
  • Possess a safety-first mindset, with a focus on quality and attention to detail, capable of following instructions and making observations in a repetitive manufacturing setting.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required, along with 1-3 years of relevant experience or training, or a combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE AND MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to read and understand simple instructions and correspondence. Proficient in writing basic correspondence and effectively presenting information in small group settings.

Mathematical skills include the ability to perform basic arithmetic operations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense to follow detailed instructions and address problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This role requires regular standing, walking, and using hands for various tasks. Occasional sitting, climbing, and lifting up to 20 pounds may be necessary.
