Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The main duty of this role is to configure, manage, and oversee the operation of manufacturing machinery. The operator is responsible for ensuring that the machines function efficiently, producing high-quality products consistently. This includes executing machine-specific tasks within production lines according to established guidelines and specifications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work the 3rd Shift - 10:00 PM to 6:15 AM, Sunday through Thursday.
  • Understand and execute all operational tasks related to furnace equipment.
  • Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) during production.
  • Achieve all production and quality benchmarks.
  • Operate a narrow web retort furnace effectively.
  • Load and manage furnace materials, including roll-to-roll web slicing and transferring rolls of coated materials.
  • Monitor furnace operations, including temperature, hydrogen flow, and processing speed.
  • Ensure the quality of produced materials, preventing any abrasions, damages, or defects.
  • Document all furnace material handling accurately.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area.
  • Take ownership of safety, quality, and operational processes.
  • Report any irregularities in the production process to supervisors.
  • Maintain accurate daily production records and time sheets.
  • Comply with safety, quality, and production standards.
  • Utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Lift and move products as necessary.
  • Conduct regular housekeeping to uphold a 5S work environment.
  • Exhibit a safety-first mindset, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn in a repetitive manufacturing setting.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

A high school diploma or GED, along with 1-3 years of relevant experience or training, is required.

LANGUAGE AND MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to read and understand simple instructions and correspondence. Proficient in basic math operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This role requires regular standing, walking, and manual dexterity. Occasionally, the employee may need to sit, climb, or balance. The ability to lift and move items up to 20 pounds is essential.
