  • Contract Management: Prepare rental forms and contracts, obtain customer signatures, and maintain daily and monthly contract files.
  • Financial Management: Compute charges based on rental or service rates, collect deposits or payments, and record credit charges.
  • Customer Service: Answer telephone calls, receive orders by phone, and maintain required phone logs.
  • Equipment Recommendations: Recommend items to customers that meet their needs, discussing customer requirements and suggesting suitable equipment.
  • Upselling and Cross-Selling: Promote add-on rental equipment for appropriate applications, increasing revenue and customer satisfaction.
  • Resource and Support: Act as a resource of information to customers concerning related equipment and services available in the local market area.
  • Delivery and Logistics: Ask questions about delivery conditions, notify customers of any delivery delays, and ensure timely delivery of equipment.
  • Operational Goals: Achieve rental operational goals, including Hills Machinery Company goals, invoice accuracy, and assigned training benchmarks.
  • Rental Reservations: Reserve items for requested time and maintain rental reservation lists.
  • Overdue Contracts: Update and call overdue lists daily, alerting supervisors of overdue contracts.
  • Problem Resolution: Resolve customer problems and invoicing issues, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Market Knowledge: Keep current on knowledge of competitive pricing and trends, staying ahead of the market.
  • Company Policies: Adhere to all company policies, procedures, rules, and regulations in written or verbal form.
  • Safety and Security: Comply with government safety requirements and other regulations, as well as store security, and report safety violations to supervisors.
Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
  • Experience: 5 years of previous rental experience preferred, with demonstrated knowledge and relevant work experience considered.
  • Skills: Positive, solutions-oriented mindset, strong time management and organizational skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to work with all levels of employees, management, and customers.
  • Equipment Knowledge: Knowledge of equipment, basic mechanics, and the local market preferred.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to use in-house computer systems with training.
  • Communication: Must understand and effectively communicate equipment applications and key performance specifications.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong creativity and problem-solving skills, with ability to recognize the difference between similar products and their advantages and disadvantages.
  • Construction Knowledge: Must have working knowledge of construction phases to properly advise on applications.
  • Sales and Customer Relations: Must possess sales and customer relation skills, with strong oral and written communication skills essential to the success of this position.
  • Work Ethic: High energy, excellent self-motivation, and work ethic, with an unwavering commitment to service excellence.
