Job Summary

Episcopal Community Services Of San Francisco is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Services Coordinator to join our team. As a Services Coordinator, you will play a critical role in supporting the daily operations of our shelters, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for our participants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to participants, responding to their needs and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the shelter facilities to maintain a clean, safe, and secure environment.
  • Monitor and maintain Shelter Operation Logs, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform duties within the parameters of the Shelter Policy and Procedure Manual, as well as all Standards of Care policies.
  • Help orient participants to program rules and responsibilities, applying Shelter rules and regulations in a fair and equitable manner.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records, including attendance, disciplinary actions, eligibility status, bed assignments, and late arrivals.
  • Answer phones, take messages, and respond to requests for information in a professional manner.
  • Maintain client computer records, completing and submitting maintenance requests as needed.
  • Assist Shelter and client volunteers, responding to participant requests and questions in a timely and professional manner.
  • Immediately report any problems to Supervisor(s) or Manager(s) in accordance with Shelter policies and procedures.
  • Attend and participate in daily shift change meetings, maintaining a clean and healthy environment for participants.
  • Collect, tag, store, and dispose of participant property according to Shelter policies and procedures.
  • Honor and abide by Agency rules of confidentiality, encouraging participants to engage in groups, activities, and Shelter outings.
  • Act as a decision-maker for critical incidents relating to the operation of each Shelter, as needed.
  • Facilitate groups, workshops, and client meetings, referring clients to the SF-START team as needed.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned and required.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Minimum of six months experience working in a position with extensive customer service and interaction with the public.
  • Experience working with homeless adults is crucial to the success of Services Coordinators.
  • Strong communication skills, comprehension of ethics in social services, and good general counseling and active listening skills required.
  • Proven problem-solving and crisis resolution skills, excellent cultural competency, and prior paid experience working with homeless populations that use harm-reduction models.
  • Prior work with mental health, disabilities, or substance abuse issues is preferred.
  • Ability to meet physical requirements of the position, including long periods of sitting, lifting, and traveling to and from ECS sites.
