Job Type: Full-time, in-person

Compensation: $120,000 - $140,000 per year

Key Responsibilities:

The Research and Technology Protection (RTP) team is responsible for delivering expert guidance on security classification and conducting assessments of classified and controlled unclassified information, particularly in GEOINT campaigns and program tool development within the NGA Research Offices and Pods. RTP serves as a security risk management framework that identifies and protects both technical and programmatic information from inception through transition to mission partners. The team evaluates information and processes to ensure the safeguarding of U.S. Government, National Security, and Intelligence Community interests against unauthorized disclosures. Additionally, RTP implements operational security measures and countermeasures to protect critical information generated by the NGA Research workforce.

Specific Duties Include:

  • Conduct system security analysis and program documentation, along with risk assessment analysis to support the RTP mission.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of threats to NGA Research programs.
  • Identify potential vulnerabilities within programs that could be exploited.
  • Evaluate the consequences of losing NGA R&D information.
  • Perform comprehensive security risk assessments for NGA's research initiatives.
  • Provide insights on the advantages and disadvantages of proposed risk mitigation strategies.
  • Assist in reviewing and establishing security classification guidance for new concepts developed by the Offices and Pods.
  • Create tailored classification guidelines for innovative GEOINT tool development and specialized handling instructions for Intelligence materials.
  • Offer expert advice on the protection of classified information, classification management, and security education and training.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and the Office of General Counsel to identify export-controlled/ITAR restricted technologies in development.
  • Deliver briefings and assist in educating the NGA Research workforce on evolving security policies and guidance.
  • Utilize Business Intelligence (BI) and social network analysis to identify threats, vulnerabilities, and opportunities for exploitation.
  • Analyze the capacity and maturity of the technology and innovation ecosystem, including supplier bases, to develop and deliver critical enabling technologies.

Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • TS/SCI Clearance and Polygraph are mandatory
  • Experience with NGA
  • Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC)
  • Security Asset Protection Professional Certification (SAPPC)
  • Security Program Integration Professional Certificate (SPIPC)
  • Special Program Security Certification (SPSC)
  • Master's or PhD degree preferred
