Compensation: $120,000 - $140,000 annually
Key Responsibilities:
The Research and Technology Protection (RTP) team is responsible for delivering expert guidance on security classification and conducting assessments of classified and controlled unclassified information, including sensitive but unclassified materials related to GEOINT initiatives and program development within the NGA Research Offices and Pods. RTP is a systematic approach to security risk management that identifies and protects both technical and programmatic information from inception through transition to mission partners. This team evaluates information and processes to ensure the safeguarding of U.S. Government, National Security, and Intelligence Community interests against unauthorized disclosures. Additionally, RTP implements operational security measures and countermeasures to protect critical information generated by the NGA Research workforce.
Specific Duties Include:
- Conduct system security analysis and prepare program documentation and risk assessments to support the RTP mission.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of threats to NGA Research programs.
- Identify potential vulnerabilities within programs that may be subject to exploitation.
- Evaluate the implications of losing NGA R&D information.
- Perform overall security risk assessments for NGA's research initiatives.
- Provide insights into the advantages and disadvantages of proposed risk mitigation strategies.
- Assist in reviewing and establishing additional technical and process-related security classification guidance for new concepts developed by the Offices and Pods.
- Create tailored classification guidelines for innovative GEOINT tool development and specialized handling instructions for Intelligence materials and GEOINT programs.
- Offer expert advice on the protection of classified information, classification management, special security, industrial security, security education and training, and security investigations.
- Collaborate with Project Managers and Office of General Counsel to identify export-controlled/ITAR restricted technologies under development within NGA Research.
- Deliver briefings and support the NGA Research workforce in understanding evolving security policies and guidance, including foreign government relationships.
- Utilize Business Intelligence (BI) and social network analysis to identify threats, vulnerabilities, and opportunities for exploitation within supply chains and networks.
- Assess the capacity and maturity of the technology and innovation ecosystem, including domestic and foreign supplier bases, to develop and deliver critical enabling technologies.
Qualifications:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- TS/SCI Clearance and Polygraph required
- Experience with NGA
- Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC)
- Security Asset Protection Professional Certification (SAPPC)
- Security Program Integration Professional Certificate (SPIPC)
- Special Program Security Certification (SPSC)
- Master's or PhD degree preferred
