Job Title: Personnel Security Specialist - Adjudicator

Job Summary:

Potomac Management Solutions, LLC is seeking a highly experienced Personnel Security Specialist - Adjudicator to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for conducting background adjudications in the federal sector, ensuring the security clearance process is executed efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate reports of investigations, interpret, and apply adjudicative guidelines to make eligibility determinations for access to sensitive classified information.
  • Review investigative documents to identify discrepancies, inconsistencies, and areas requiring clarification or additional investigation.
  • Consult with government officials and external agencies to resolve personnel security-related issues.
  • Prepare adjudicative read-downs against national security adjudicative criteria and control the processing, review, and appeals actions.
  • Recommend security clearance eligibility decisions on sensitive investigative information involving complex and controversial issues.
  • Generate, evaluate, and make written recommendations on each assigned case file in support of clearance eligibility.
  • Update security clearance databases to reflect eligibility determinations.
  • Coordinate and prepare original personnel security documentation, including statements of reason, letters of intent, and denial of access memoranda.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Personnel Security Specialist will be required to be cleared at the Top Secret level.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience adjudicating suitability and security background investigations.
  • Successful completion of an accredited Basic and Advanced Suitability Adjudication Course.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications and knowledge of processing eQIP.
  • Experienced user of NP2 Suite applications, with special emphasis on e-QIP and CVS.
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently, and with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with tight and often conflicting deadlines.
  • Coordination of work activities with other persons and groups.
  • Must possess computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite) and other programs and systems to facilitate work completion.
  • Ability to interact with representatives, executives, and directors.
  • Strong report writing skills.
  • Familiar with laws, rules, and regulations governing Personnel Security and Fitness/Suitability.
  • Considerable skill in expressing ideas, conclusions, and making recommendations effectively, clearly, and concisely, both orally and in writing.
