POSITION SUMMARY

The York Group, Inc. is in search of a skilled Logistics Operations Supervisor to join our team. This role is essential in overseeing and coordinating the activities of personnel involved in tracking and documenting outgoing and incoming shipments.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES


• Analyzes shipping documents, bills of lading, orders, and other records to establish shipping priorities, work assignments, and methods necessary to adhere to shipping timelines.

• Conducts safety inspections to ensure compliance with company safety protocols.

• Assesses required space and informs the appropriate personnel if loads are incomplete or require additional filling.

• Monitors loading processes to ensure adherence to shipping specifications.

• Evaluates material handling equipment for any defects and alerts maintenance staff as necessary.

• Maintains records of vehicle maintenance.

• Directs the transfer of shipments from the shipping area to storage and operational zones.

• Supervises incoming and shipping activities via FedEx/UPS to guarantee accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.

• Determines space needs and positioning for incoming materials.

• Develops stocking locations.

• Reviews unloading operations to ensure compliance with shipping standards and notifies the appropriate personnel in cases of damaged or incomplete orders.

• Plans, directs, and coordinates employee activities to achieve set goals or objectives. Provides mentorship, coaching, training, and development for the team.

• Performs additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS


• A minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in warehouse operations; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• At least 3 years in a supervisory capacity.

• High proficiency in computer applications, including SAP (training provided).

• Strong skills in analysis, prioritization, interpersonal relations, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from inception to completion), and planning.

• Ability to foster and maintain collaborative relationships with colleagues and clients, both internal and external.

• Capable of working independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

• Ability to influence peers and management effectively.

• Self-motivated with a keen attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting.

PHYSICAL ASPECTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT


• Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to manipulate objects, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and communicate effectively.

• Regularly lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.

• Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

• Regular exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, extreme temperatures, electrical hazards, and toxic or caustic chemicals.

• The noise level in the work environment may be elevated.
