Position Overview:

We are in search of a skilled and knowledgeable Safety Manager to oversee our safety initiatives in our operational areas. This role will report to the Safety Director and will involve the development, execution, and management of safety programs to ensure adherence to occupational safety and health regulations. The position necessitates a proactive approach to fostering a secure work environment across various locations, with occasional travel required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate, execute, and assess safety policies and procedures in alignment with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety assessments and inspections to pinpoint hazards and implement corrective measures.
  • Facilitate safety training sessions for employees at all levels to cultivate a safety-oriented culture within the organization.
  • Collaborate with leadership to establish safety objectives and report on safety performance metrics.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents to identify root causes and propose preventive strategies.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of safety training, incidents, and inspections, ensuring compliance with reporting standards.
  • Act as a liaison with regulatory bodies and ensure all safety documentation is precise and current.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes affecting workplace safety.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 4-5 years of experience in safety management, preferably within the equipment, industrial, or construction sectors.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Demonstrated capability to lead safety training and presentations effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Certification in safety management (e.g., CSP, CHST) is advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel to various locations as necessary.

Work Environment:

  • Office setting with desk work and computer usage.
  • Occasional site visits in industrial environments requiring light walking and lifting.
  • Ability to lift up to 45 pounds as needed.

Position Type and Work Hours:

  • This is a full-time, non-exempt role; standard working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
