Position Overview:

We are in search of a skilled and dedicated Safety Manager to oversee our operations in Southern California. This role involves reporting to and collaborating with the Safety Director to develop, implement, and manage safety initiatives that ensure adherence to occupational safety and health regulations. A proactive stance on maintaining a secure work environment across our facilities is essential, with occasional travel required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate, execute, and assess safety policies and procedures in alignment with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Conduct routine safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective measures.
  • Facilitate safety training sessions for employees at all levels to foster a safety-oriented culture.
  • Work alongside management to establish safety objectives and report on safety performance metrics.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents to ascertain root causes and propose preventative strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety training, incidents, and inspections, ensuring compliance with reporting standards.
  • Act as a liaison with regulatory bodies, ensuring all safety documentation is current and precise.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes affecting workplace safety.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 4-5 years of experience in safety management, preferably within the equipment, industrial, or construction sectors.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Demonstrated capability to lead safety training and presentations successfully.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Certification in safety management (e.g., CSP, CHST) is advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel to various locations in Southern California as necessary.

Work Environment:

  • Office setting - primarily desk work and computer use.
  • Occasional site visits in industrial settings - may involve light walking, lifting, and crouching.
  • Ability to lift up to 45 pounds as needed.

Position Type and Work Hours:

  • This is a full-time, non-exempt position; standard work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
