Position Overview:
We are in search of a skilled and experienced Safety Manager to oversee safety initiatives within our operations. This role will involve collaboration with the Safety Director to design, implement, and manage safety programs that adhere to occupational health and safety regulations. A proactive mindset is essential for maintaining a secure work environment across our various locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate, execute, and assess safety policies and procedures in alignment with applicable regulations.
- Conduct routine safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and initiate corrective measures.
- Facilitate safety training sessions for employees at all levels to foster a safety-oriented culture.
- Work with management to establish safety objectives and provide reports on safety performance indicators.
- Examine accidents and incidents to identify root causes and propose preventive strategies.
- Maintain comprehensive records of safety training, incidents, and inspections, ensuring compliance with reporting standards.
- Act as a liaison with regulatory bodies, ensuring all safety documentation is current and accurate.
- Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes affecting workplace safety.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 4-5 years of experience in safety management, ideally within the equipment, industrial, or construction sectors.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively lead safety training and presentations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Safety management certification (e.g., CSP, CHST) is advantageous.
- Willingness to travel to various locations as required.
Work Environment:
- Office setting with desk work and computer usage.
- Occasional site visits in industrial settings, involving light physical activity.
- Ability to lift up to 45 pounds as necessary.
Position Type and Expected Hours:
- This is a full-time, non-exempt role; standard hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
