Position Overview:
We are currently in search of a qualified Safety Manager to oversee safety initiatives within our organization. This role will involve collaboration with the Safety Director to develop and implement comprehensive safety programs that adhere to occupational health and safety regulations. The position requires a proactive mindset to foster a secure working environment across various locations, with some travel expected.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate, execute, and assess safety policies and procedures in line with applicable regulations.
- Conduct regular safety assessments and inspections to pinpoint hazards and implement corrective measures.
- Facilitate safety training sessions for personnel at all levels to cultivate a safety-oriented culture.
- Work alongside management to establish safety objectives and report on safety performance metrics.
- Examine accidents and incidents to identify root causes and propose preventive strategies.
- Maintain accurate records of safety training, incidents, and inspections, ensuring compliance with reporting standards.
- Act as a liaison with regulatory bodies, ensuring all safety documentation is current and precise.
- Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes affecting workplace safety.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
- 4-5 years of experience in safety management, preferably within the equipment, industrial, or construction sectors.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively lead safety training and presentations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Safety management certification (e.g., CSP, CHST) is advantageous.
- Willingness to travel to various locations as required.
Work Environment:
- Office setting, primarily involving desk work and computer usage.
- Occasional site visits in industrial settings, which may involve light physical activity.
- Ability to lift up to 45 pounds when necessary.
Position Type and Expected Hours:
- This is a full-time, non-exempt role with standard working hours from Monday to Friday.
