Position Overview:

We are in search of a qualified and experienced Safety Manager to oversee our operations. This role involves collaborating closely with the Safety Director to design, implement, and manage safety initiatives aimed at ensuring adherence to occupational health and safety standards. The Safety Manager will adopt a proactive stance to foster a secure working environment across our various locations, with some travel required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate, execute, and assess safety policies and protocols in alignment with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Conduct routine safety evaluations and inspections to pinpoint hazards and initiate corrective measures.
  • Facilitate safety training sessions for personnel at all levels to cultivate a safety-centric culture within the organization.
  • Collaborate with leadership to establish safety objectives and report on safety performance indicators.
  • Examine accidents and incidents to ascertain root causes and propose preventive strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety training, incidents, and inspections, ensuring compliance with reporting standards.
  • Act as a liaison with regulatory bodies, ensuring all safety documentation is precise and current.
  • Stay abreast of industry developments and regulatory changes affecting workplace safety.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 4-5 years of experience in safety management, ideally within the equipment, industrial, or construction sectors.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a capacity for collaborative teamwork.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead safety training and presentations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Certification in safety management (e.g., CSP, CHST) is advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel to various locations as necessary.

Work Environment:

  • Office setting, primarily involving desk work and computer usage.
  • Occasional site visits in industrial settings, which may require light walking, lifting, and crouching.
  • Ability to lift up to 45 pounds as needed.

Position Type and Expected Hours:

  • This is a full-time, non-exempt role; standard working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
