Position Overview:
We are in search of a skilled and knowledgeable Safety Manager to oversee our operations. This role involves collaborating closely with the Safety Director to design, implement, and manage safety programs that ensure adherence to occupational safety and health regulations. A proactive mindset is essential for fostering a secure work environment across our various locations, with some travel expected.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate, execute, and evaluate safety policies and procedures in line with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct routine safety audits and inspections to pinpoint hazards and initiate corrective measures.
- Facilitate safety training sessions for employees at all levels to cultivate a safety-first culture.
- Work alongside management to establish safety objectives and report on safety performance metrics.
- Examine accidents and incidents to uncover root causes and propose preventive strategies.
- Maintain accurate records of safety training, incidents, and inspections, ensuring compliance with reporting standards.
- Act as a liaison with regulatory bodies, ensuring all safety documentation is current and precise.
- Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes affecting workplace safety.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 4-5 years of experience in safety management, preferably within the equipment, industrial, or construction sectors.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively lead safety training and presentations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Certification in safety management (e.g., CSP, CHST) is advantageous.
- Willingness to travel to various locations as necessary.
Work Environment:
- Office setting with desk work and computer usage.
- Occasional site visits in industrial settings requiring light physical activity.
- Ability to lift up to 45 pounds as needed.
Position Type and Work Hours:
- This is a full-time, non-exempt role; standard working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
